just give em 750 hsp or more

It’s not that simple. They ran 750 or did you not hear what Harvick discussed? For this car to feel a difference, you’re going to need 1000+hp. That does get expensive and you’re at the engine’s breaking point.

Months ago an engine builder said it wouldn’t be harder or really that expensive to add 80 more horsepower

850 HP
Just like years ago.

@@johnnyfrisbie7581 its pretty simple. Remove the gigantic V8 Supercar style front splitter (aka make it much smaller) and boost the horsepower to 800. They still use the same engines that cycled between 7800-9800 rpm at over 900 horsepower an entire weekend. Just use the 2016 formula tbh. 750-800 and little downforce

@jabber1990 January 11, 2024 at 2:01 pm

wait, so they took away Downforce with Part A….but made them install part B to put it back?

Just give more power please. Even a local short track driver have more power than that

Reply
@bmoney2011 January 11, 2024 at 3:47 pm

Local short track drivers don’t run nearly 40 races per year…which means they can run more powerful engines because they only have to work a handful of times, and for not very long distances.

High powered engines are incredibly expensive to maintain. It’d be the death of smaller teams that can’t afford to tear down a motor after every race.

@@bmoney2011you’re right a lot of local short track racers don’t run 40 races a year. A lot of them run more than that.

@samharris3508 January 11, 2024 at 5:26 pm

@@bmoney2011The teams have stated that their engine costs haven’t gone down since implementing a lower power engine. It still cost the same as when they where running 750hp.

The teams also tear down the engines every race anyways, hence why the costs haven’t come down.

These cars need more power if they aren’t going to do anything about the increased mechanical grip.

These Aero changes are going to do squat at tracks like North Wilkesboro, Bristol and Martinsville, and may be a marginal improvement at the larger short tracks like Richmond and Phoenix.

How about appointing another France family member to be the head of crapcar so we can have a new stockcar to watch do absolutely nothing for the fans!

NASCAR has the most incompetent governing body in all of professional sports today. Give them more horsepower at least at the short tracks, down force is not the problem there. Also, fix the tires or better yet, just run rain tires everywhere all the time.

Reply
@Fearthebones211 January 11, 2024 at 2:53 pm

This would be way more difficult than you think. And it would be impossible to run rain tires everywhere

@samharris3508 January 11, 2024 at 5:21 pm

@Fearthebones211 not really. Aero is not an issue with these cars at short tracks. The cars need more power to break the increased in mechanical grip they obtained.

Every team so far has said that increasing power won’t be a difficult thing to do, nor would it be much more expensive.

@Nonfiction79 January 11, 2024 at 2:14 pm

Just add horsepower goddammit! It won’t kill anybody!

Reply
@bmoney2011 January 11, 2024 at 3:49 pm

Except more hp means more expensive engines which means more money sunk into maintenance which means fewer teams can stay solvent

Reply
@nab2420 January 11, 2024 at 2:28 pm

Yep, change Aero at tracks where Aero hardly matters.

@jrdshorts_ January 11, 2024 at 2:34 pm

Crank up the HP. The drivers want it and the fans want it, 800-900 is the perfect range.

@JaredR1996 January 11, 2024 at 3:10 pm

I love seeing all the comments to add more horsepower. NASCAR just doesn’t want to listen to the fans nor the drivers anymore. They want to do things their own way and it’s frustrating as a fan for sure and I’m pretty sure as a driver that they won’t just try and test with more horsepower

Reply
@jasonjackson5493 January 11, 2024 at 3:12 pm

How about just get rid of the diffuser at all tracks??

Reply
@MattChaffe January 11, 2024 at 4:15 pm

Yep, because that’s going to make a huge difference over adding horsepower and reducing tire width…

Reply
@RyGuy8989 January 11, 2024 at 4:16 pm

Now up the horsepower to 750, eliminate shifting, and you’ll be on to something!

Reply
@robertl7503 January 11, 2024 at 5:17 pm

So what you’re really saying is that did nothing.
Horsepower, Horsepower, Horsepower!

Reply
@jeremyramberger5198 January 11, 2024 at 5:44 pm

Just make a softer tire for the short tracks and let the rubber give you two grooves

Reply
@bartpang January 11, 2024 at 5:57 pm

You need to be able to wear out the tires. Give the more power and less tires.
