What are the biggest storylines you’re looking forward to in 2024?

Carson Hocevar, I think he’s gonna be very interesting to watch

Even though this isn’t a story line but as a Chase Elliott fan, I think 2024 will be his comeback season.

Dinger vs SVG for the Xfinity series is going to be quite the show

That series in general I have high expectations for

@mjsultimate January 23, 2024 at 1:15 am

I’m listening out for what’s going on with the charter agreement

That will become a massive storyline if teams don’t agree with NASCAR, and they might even stage a strike of kind

I got a good feeling that RFK is going to dominate in the first half of the season but fall apart in the second half, sort of like what Truex dealt with last year.

I at least wanna see Brad Keselowski break his winless streak

i have a very crazy feeling about some back marker some how winning a race because of a big wreck

I know people hate that but I honestly love it. I like when underdogs make it in over someone who’s expected

I have a feeling that general motors will bring in the Chevy Malibu in 2025. There is talk of an updated Chevy Malibu for 2025. In the NASCAR cup series and maybe in the NASCAR Xfinity series.

@Deebob-ry3ux January 23, 2024 at 12:04 am

I hope what can be the best option for General Motors to replace to Camaro is for Chevrolet to leave NASCAR and replace it with Cadillac in both the Cup series and Xfinity series but Chevrolet still exist in trucks

Reply
@jacoblindhorst2347 January 23, 2024 at 12:08 am

Ive heard an idea is to take a Cadillac and make a slightly less fancy chevy version and call it an impala

Reply
@memolestas1017 January 23, 2024 at 12:09 am

They use the Chevy Impala and Monte Carlo for a lot of years, the Malibu doesn’t sound weird.

@noahd999 January 23, 2024 at 1:33 am

There is a possibility, so your right it’s not crazy but I can’t see NASCAR wanting that to happen lmao.

I hope the new Short Track package that includes the 3-inch spoiler helps improve the racing for 2024. Just hope we have more horsepower too, but I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon.

Reply
@MovieTime022 January 22, 2024 at 11:57 pm

They aren’t giving them enough horsepower. They. Need a lot like the late 90s/2000 had. 900 horsepower cars made it hard to drive but it made the racing closer and passing was easier. You use to see a couple cars spin out in qualifying because they were so fast on the edge.

Going to be hard for an aero change to affect non aero dependent tracks

Reply
@joshuapboston1999 January 22, 2024 at 11:58 pm

Honestly, Cody Ware being back in the cup series is nothing more than proof the RWR is still the joke that they were when they started.
Also, charters and playoffs need to be eliminated entirely.

Some important story lines: can Legacy Motor Club bounce back? How will Kyle Larson perform in the double this year? Will Elliott and Bowman be able to bounce back after disappointing seasons? How does Deegan perform in her first full time Xfinity Series season? Some headlines that I can come up with so far

Reply
@johnhaas2523 January 23, 2024 at 2:25 am

How would it be a bounce back for Legacy Motor club? They are only 3 years old. Richard Petty sold his share a few years ago when Gallagher bought Richard Petty Motorsports and even Richard Petty Motorsports sucked

I’m looking forward to seeing if nascar might’ve found the sweet spot with the schedule, this will be year three with this car so it will really be make or break for a lot of tracks, I’m super excited to see it on IMS oval, hope to see you at the track this year Jaret!

Some of my predictions/ things to watch:

Biggest Surprise: Spire finally has money to build the team they will be competitive and I think that they’ll be fighting for points in the playoffs.

Dark Horse for the playoffs: Ty Gibbs & Eric Jones

Best overall team: Still Hendrick except Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson will lead that charge.

Biggest Disappointment: C Bell and Denny Hamlin (I personally don’t think they’re going to have a good season. Hamlin will start to show his age this season)

Best Race: Atlanta will have the best action but Iowa and the Coke 600 will be the best races.

Champion: Brad Keslowski (first owner driver since Tony Stewart in 2011 to win the championship.)

Hot Take: Carl Edward’s drives a race in the 60 this season.

@bighand1530 January 23, 2024 at 4:34 pm

I would be up for Brad Keselowski pulling off a Terry Labonte.

When it comes to Iowa being added to the Cup Series schedule, it will be interesting to see if it draws a better crowd than the Indycar doubleheader that will be happening there a month later. Speaking of Indycar, 2024 is a critical year for that series as they need to make moves (like introducing new technical regulations) that ensure two things: a media partner for 2025 & beyond as the deal with NBC expires & Honda’s involvement in Indycar beyond 2026. If Indycar can’t in my view, then Honda will likely begin the process of entering NASCAR & leaving Indycar. Then in F1 I just hope that the upcoming season is much more competitive than the last 2 & I also hope Andretti finally gets approved to be on the grid so that we finally have a competitive American team in F1 because Haas is far from that currently.

I just think of how great Atlanta was for so many years and how it is, in my view, unimpressive. Outside of the Atlanta races, I think it’ll be interesting to see how the manufacturers perform. I’m looking forward to see who is the greatest driver statistically throughout the season too.

Really interested in Spire this year. Their program is really growing at a nice pace, LaJoie is maturing and getting more out of the car, his new teammate will hopefully be able to have a good rookie year. Hocevar seemed to handle himself okay filling in for the 42 last year. The new sponsors look great on the car, and like Legacy added,puts a lot more financial support into the organization. For Legacy no more Allegiant and Sunseeker sponsors, although they’re still companies that might want some nascar exposure maybe going on a car for a race of two. Hey if they’re sold out that great!

For the Brickyard 400, I am expecting no more than 100, 000 fans at the track. It pains me to say it, but I feel like Indy is an IndyCar track and not a NASCAR track. It fits IndyCar better than stock cars

I’m excited to see Carson hocevar. I think he’s going to be a little buschy and piss a lot of people off. He’s super aggressive. Which is always fun to watch.

Biggest storyline for me is hoping Elliott and Bowman bounce back after a year full of injuries and penalties. I want to see all 4 HMS cars in the playoffs again!

As a life long Harvick guy, I’m stoked to see what Josh Berry does. Getting him and getting Noah Gragson is quite a complement to their core as they have a solid, young core to now build on. I’m hoping Stewart-Haas racing will rebound this year.
