Yes actually, if his head didn’t move that much it would just absorb more of the shock of the impact. The HANS is supposed to let it move just that much, it does look violent, but it could have been a lot more.
Sucks for Austin Hill, this wreck knocks him out of the 500 and Conor Daly lucks his way in.

@Demonracer2 Just rewatched. Hill didn’t start spinning until Pastrana hit his bumper. Pastrana’s a great driver, but NASCAR isn’t really his thing.
Happy for him that he made the race, though.
