NASCAR fans can be difficult to get along with. In both the recent days and months even, those in and around the NASCAR industry have called out the fanbase for being (in their words) spoiled. So today we look into the overall scope of how NASCAR fans have been portrayed by this label as well as if it really matters. So, are NASCAR fans actually spoiled? (does it matter?)

Do you think NASCAR fans are spoiled? And if so, does it matter?
partly so yes, and on the other side, no
yes, IDK
Yes
Yes, but that’s not a bad thing, to provide a counterargument though, we don’t get enough McDowell Supremacy!
NASCAR fans aren’t spoiled, they just want the series to listen to their demands.
honestly, yeah
Yes, even if NASCAR gave them everything they want they would complain.
Nascar: we changed all the rules and tracks just how you wanted them
Fans: it’s to perfect no enough controversy

Hell Atlanta produces the best race this decade and people still complain
Yet other NASCAR fans are still complaining about NASCAR fans complaining.
A little bit, yeah. I feel like motorsports fans in general are spoiled.
Yeah I feel a lot of the reason was indirectly F1’s fault. A lot of people (myself included) started watching F1 in 2021, and many people had F1 as there first motorsport. The reason why the 2021 season was so good is because it WAS a one in a million season. But having 2 “one in a million seasons” in a row is nearly impossible, let alone more. If they try to force a “one in a million season”, its not one in a million anymore, so it feels cheap.
Definitely some fans are spoiled, but Nascar has also played to far into Fans hands where they got them into lose lose situations. Whether it was adding more road course races, trying to include parity (Cause of Kyle Busch and others), or even restricting cup drivers in lower series (Kyle Busch)
I want Nascar to do what they think is best, as a fan, if i really am a fan, I’m still going to follow the sport and enjoy the product. I don’t see people as True fans of anything if they can’t enjoy the great moments along with the bad/less exciting moments.
It’s funny how Nascar listen to fans more than their drivers. Imagine the NFL if they did that.
…compared to Formula 1 fans, I would *_not_* call us spoiled.
Yeah f1 is so posh
It ebbs and flows. More F1 fans are complaining now b/c of how bad this season’s been

That shouldn’t be a justification and neglect the main issues with us nascar fans. Infact we shouldn’t act like this on any aspects in life.
We should be an example, not the best of the worst. Stick it up to f1 fans at their own game on who really is more mature and “classy”
@@norandomstuffDon’t get me wrong, I’ll take NASCAR over F1 any day of the week, but I feel like calling NASCAR a “classy” sport is a bit of a stretch.
TOO MANY INTERMEDIATE TRACKS, NASCAR ADD MORE ROAD COURSES
*does so*
I HATE THIS, ADD MORE SHORT TRAXKS
*does so*
I HATE THIS, ADD A DIRT TRACK
*does so*
I HATE THIS, ADD MORE INTERMEDIATE TRACKS
Thus the cycle continues
I’m been saying this about the modern Nascar fan base for a while. They are never happy with the results, it’s like politics, no one is happy at the end of the day.
There’s always an old saying, “You can’t please everyone.” BUT if it’s something that BOTH fans and drivers want like horsepower then just give them what they want!
As you said, this is just fandom in general these days. People online are either total stans or chronic complainers. There’s almost no in-between. But the majority of fans are in between but just don’t feel the need to be loud about it online. It’s not a NASCAR thing, it’s a human thing.
You hit the nail on its head
We don’t expect anything different from NASCAR Fans. They don’t know what they want, whether it’s more short tracks, lesser laps, less crashes, etc. Once they get it, they complain still.
With social media like it is today I say yes fans are spoiled and its not just Nascar its wrestling fans as well and in the world of animation has that problem as well. I think when Twitter came to the scene it pretty much amped up the spoilness to a point where its toxic most of time especially how people can easily say what they want online and not face any consequences or get beaten up or whatever. Its like what you said Iceberg Twitter is not real. To me I just log off twitter when races or wrestling shows come on cause of how bad and toxic it has gotten.
Nascar fans love to complain about Nascar fans loving to complain.
NASCAR fans in general complain too much
@@atrailmckinley4786very much true like bruh people were literally complaining about who was gonna wave the green flag for the Daytona 500 this year before it got rained out like how stupid is that
@brandondavis8790 This is why people don’t take nascar seriously
While other NASCAR fans like complaining about NASCAR fans complaining it goes both ways.
For me, I think S1ap put it best in terms of the way to fix the problems NASCAR has. Have the sanctioning body take a step back, let the races play out naturally, call penalties where necessary, award points and prize money to the winners, nothing more. In other words, not gimmick the hell out of not just the championship, but individual races. Sure, not every race will be an edge of seat thriller, but because of that, it’s what makes those thrilling races all the more special.
To use the Daytona 500 as an example. Excluding the tragic end to it, not every race will be like the 2001 Daytona 500, indeed, for every thrilling race like that was, there’ll always be one’s like the 2000 Daytona 500 (which saw Dale Jarrett easily win and a total of 9 lead changes in the whole race). The same goes for year long points battles, for every dominant season like Matt Kenseth in 2003, Jeff Gordon in 1998, Dale Earnhardt in 1987, there’ll be those like 1992 or 2002 where the points battle goes right down to the wire, making them must watch races
Those moments were organic. The 2011 Championship battle happened organically. You’re exactly right, after five years of Jimmie Johnson, it was euphoric seeing Edwards vs. Stewart coming down to the final lap of the final race of the season.
@calebduprest6438 playing Devil’s Advocate, would that scenario have happened if there wasn’t a Chase for the Cup though? Didn’t Carl Edwards have a points lead through consistency in the regular season that was wiped away with the points reset?
Prime example, Brickyard 400 “ too boring and racing is awful and NASCAR isn’t meant for Indy “ than gets switched to the RC “ HOW DARE YOU GET RID OF BRICKYARD!” Spring Bristol race “ no one attends the races and minus well wait to go to the night race” than switched to the dirt “ SPRING BRISTOL IS SACRED RACE!”. No matter what it’s impossible to truly make everyone happy and the more NASCAR tries to the worst it becomes
The only thing that people seem to agree on is that the current Texas layout is awful.
Right, like wish they keep Bristol dirt or let’s race in actual dirt track, auto club wasn’t good racing til the gen 6 and gen 7 cars race well then tear down auto club to convert into track when gen 7 doesn’t do well on short tracks the list of complaints go on and on.
@@jermaineboyd6594 I always liked Autoclub. It was a unique track, and prior to the 550 package the racing tended to be pretty good.
One major turnoff I have about nascar is the online fanbase. Fans just feel the need to be negative for no reason. Nascar makes a change, fans complain. Then fans complain about fans complaining and it’s just a never ending cycle. All sides are annoying, and to the people in the comment section saying “yeah nascar fans are the worst all they do is complain”, you’re a part of the problem too. Last month I meet someone in my college who was a nascar fan. It was so nice to talk to someone who liked nascar that wasn’t insane. Moral of the story, don’t be chronically online, and when you are online don’t get into useless debates.
Online fanbase is pretty trash its true. At the track everyone is the complete opposite. Everyone is super positive… Those are the real fans not the trolls on here, many of which dont actually go to races/fully watch the racing or anything, you can tell by what they say.
It makes them feel ‘cool’, ‘unique’, or ‘edgy’ when in reality, they are the exact opposite of all of these when hundreds or thousands of people have the same shitty mindset. A kind of ‘main character syndrome’ to put it in a way.
Yet NASCAR fans are complaining about the complaining going on every platform.
NASCAR is in a perpetual state of Damned if you do , Damned if you don’t.
NASCAR FANS: “We want NASCAR to do “THIS”
NASCAR: Does “THIS”
NASCAR FANS: “OH $H==!! YOU DID EXACTLY WHAT WE ASKED!”
