0:08 Long Beach would be an ideal course to stay in the California market….

1:00 everyone must be watching from home cause they’re sure not watching in person.

bad marketing and promoting. tickets arn’t exactly on the cheap side..

@gr8aquino March 27, 2024 at 9:57 pm

@@Ice-Bladebingo! I receive promotional emails from the few tracks we go to each year. Martinsville & Bristol do an ok job offering affordable, decent tickets mostly WAY ahead of race day. Richmond & Darlington not so much unless I’m missing promotions. Pretty much $200 for my wife & I to walk in the gate. I couldn’t imagine trying to take a family of four…

Exactly ! I wanted to go to the Iowa race beings it’s a short drive for me, but then I seen the ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS TICKET PRICES !! What a scam !

I’m not a fan of IndyCar losing one of their crown jewels and another big race to NASCAR. They already can’t go to ISC or SMI tracks. NASCAR at Long Beach would be cool but not means dumping IndyCar’s great race there.

Don’t they go to TexARSE in the schedule?

Reply
@jeremyharper3462 March 27, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Thru go to Texas every year. There is no reason they can’t go to other nascar venues if they want to

Reply
@naparacingfan9275 March 27, 2024 at 8:02 pm

They don’t go to Texas this season. A Milwaukee race replaced it.

Reply
@jeremyharper3462 March 27, 2024 at 8:17 pm

@naparacingfan9275  that may be true, but that still allows that indy can race at Smi tracks if they want to.
The races at Texas were less than ideal. I went to a few of them. Follow the leader until the leader catches the back of the field and can’t even lap the slowest car.

@UTSpeedShow March 28, 2024 at 12:19 am

Just thought I’d point out that Indycar is racing at Nashville Superspeedway this year (an SMI owned track) and Iowa (ISC/NASCAR owned)…

if nascar ended up racing at long beach, i can be at least 72% sure that stenhouse will crash into that turn 2 fountain

Reply
@americanwalmarts3565 March 27, 2024 at 6:17 pm

they could try racing at Laguna Seca… it might be far, but then you don’t have to fight IndyCar, also i did watch the Xfinity Race at COTA, and it was a really good race

Reply
@truckercowboyed2638 March 27, 2024 at 6:26 pm

I just don’t know if they can get through the corkscrew without crashing…. stock cars aren’t as nimble as GT3 cars to navigate it without slowing way down…

Reply
@S.K.R.E.Inc. March 27, 2024 at 7:44 pm

NASCAR is aiming for SoCal. Laguna Seca is not in that market. Not to mention, it already has its issues with Karens like Nashville

Nascar needs to put Sonoma on the West Coast swing. I’d love to see them race at a GREEN Sonoma

Reply
@carn949 March 27, 2024 at 6:50 pm

It’d be hard to that since weather would be the main problem

Sear’s Point is green because of rain on the West Coast, not really incentive to drag their traveling circus out and back, 2,800 miles each way.

Guess NASCAR could have a Saturday night Cup race within Long Beach weekend. The most difficult for Indycar, IMSA and NASCAR to coexist during the same weekend would be finding space within a circuit in which space is already a scarce commodity.

You’re not going to get it in the rainy season Marcus Smith and his team have said so Because it can be way too rainy in Northern California and That wouldn’t be good for the fans at Sonoma because no paved parking and stuff

Parts of the Chicago track were much wider than anything at Long Beach, so overtaking was possible. Long Beach is like Monaco – the tradition is great – the racing, not so much.

Living in SoCal and a life long NASCAR and Indy Car fan, while I would like to see a NASCAR street race in person, I think it would be bad to have NASCAR be a partner in in the LBGP. Having been a Season ticket and camping holder at Fontana since it opened to closing. Under Penske ownership, it was outstanding and went downhill under NASCAR ownership, from promotional to fan experience. I’m afraid NASCAR would do the same, take a tremenously event, and make it mediocre.
