Actions mean louder than words Elton
Just warning you
Love the show! Glad other prominent figures are mentioning your show! Keep up the great work.
Imo and speaking from the limited time I’ve driven Derby and a few Late Model races. The main thing that would fix short track racing is shifting, I think if you up the HP 100-150hp and change the gear differential it would help big time.
NASCAR is finding every excuse in the world not to increase the horsepower, remove the diffuser, and make softer compound tires.
The teams have said they have ZERO ISSUE increasing the HP.
Removing the diffuser won’t do anything significant at short tracks. It’s not high speed enough
Just go back to the previous generation car. I can’t see them saving any money with this one.
Tell Marcus to pound salt. Open Sparta back up. We don’t need two races at Atlanta
I didn’t see any of it . Got rid of cable
@@user-rx7ns4re9uthey’re not, these cars cost $400,000 a car, old cars cost $80,000 to build in house, and the car owners already say they aren’t turning a profit and want more money, can you blame them!?
Never understood giving SMI credit for the Roval. It’s been there for 50 years, they just decided to use it again.
Marcus does deserve the credit though for bringing it back and some changes to it from the original configuration
I mean I will admit I hate that it’s usually NASCAR and Marcus Smith that usually gets the credit for creating the “Roval” like it’s never been done before, since that’s usually how the broadcasts and ig a lot of other people will say it, when IMSA has raced at the Charlotte Roval back in the old GTP era in ‘86 and ‘87, and then again with the American Le Mans Series in 2001. Plus the slight experimentation of sports cars on Rovals in the late 90s and early 2000s, plus Grand Am sometimes racing on rovals. But Marcus and SMI do deserve credit for updating the road course section and revamping it for other road racing series.
Denny shouted you out on Actions Detrimental.

Maybe a wet/slick hybrid tire is the sweet spot. A little less grip overall and more wear on dry, and improved grip with a little less wear on wet tracks. Best of both worlds and it’s all in one tire. That would be pretty cool actually.
Agreed
Maybe have options of compounds and types and let teams choose when they use them. Similar to formula one or Indy, and make a rule where they must use each type/compound during the race..to force pit strategies
I could be mistaken but when it comes to North Wilkesboro, Dale Jr and iRacing should get some credit also with the plan to remove the weeds and clean up the track so iRacing can scan it and add it to the simulator. If it wasn’t for that perhaps it wouldn’t have came back with a real world race.
Dale and iRacing have been credited dozens of times for that already
Hahahaha
Who knew that a low profile tire would have this many issues with tire wear at short tracks, almost like theres not enough rubber on the tire for it to wear in a satisfying way for racing. I’m also confused how aero was better 20 years ago across the board.
Good point on the tires. But the aero isn’t worse, it’s better. That’s why faster tracks are so good lately.
Amazing good you’re just doesn’t know how to make a tire that will wear out it’s funny your family car needs tires often but a race car Wears Like Steel and they just don’t know what to do what a bunch of yahoos
Way to put the problem all on Goodyear’s shoulders. Get with it #nascar
In a world where quality is fading every day and consumers are tighter with their dollars for it, SMI and like companies need to stand out with quality that says, “The people are worth every penny.” The people need to believe the CEO is willing to live in a single wide on a sliver of land if it means they can invest more into making the product the best it can be.
Channel has always been great but feel like this year it has taken another step. Eric does a great job and awesome to see the recognition from drivers and larger media players. Keep up the great work!
Someone from NASCAR is at Goodyear today. Two large Gulf streams flew in this morning and they went straight up to Kelley Ave. They been there all day, I just drove by the airport and the jets were still sitting there.
I don’t care how much horsepower they have I want to know how much torque the cars have
Eric you have by far the best Nascar show on YouTube!
“Some guy named Eric Estepp” … that’s the creator of the Groovy Gauge to you
Good job Eric. Hamlin put you over on his show pointing out seeing ur save the short tracks sign.
