Dover Motor Speedway is known as the Monster Mile. Many times Dover races come and go on the NASCAR schedule but there are times that absolute gems of insanity that we remember forever. The 2016 spring race is on the far end of those fun, insane masterpieces. Is this the craziest Dover race???

What is your favorite Dover race?
2023 was my first race ever so that
Pretty hard to choose from
Gordon leading 381 of 400 laps June 3rd 2001 and winning it
The 2005-2007 Dover races are insanely underrated
2015 spring race because it was my first race and my favorite driver won
How has it been 8 years already
This race was a race of the year contender. Between The Big One, the Edwards wreck & Kenseth beating Larson & Elliott for his first win of the year, it’s an all-time Dover race.
Jaret: thinks 2016 spring is the craziest Dover race
2007 fall race: Am I a joke to you?
His name is Jaret?

2004 spring race has entered the chat.
The 1981 Mason Dixon 500 Has Entered the Chart
2009 spring? a car literally flipped. or that race where Carl Edwards got Logano aeroloose in the Nationwide series
Man, if only we got these type of Dover races today!
It’s the cars fault Tbf. Until they fix the car it won’t be much different. I mean it’s not terrible just not as good as it used to be
@@timechanger9162are you kidding me? Dover has been 10x better with the next gen. How many Dover races were actually watchable from 2010-2021? I’ll give you a hint, not many
Luckily I recall Dover being particularly good last year. I had the race highlighted.
Incredibly underrated race
This was a pathetic wreckfest race.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworldah shut it
As a Jimmie Johnson fan back then, I was heated at that moment when the transmission broke on his car. That was a tough pill to swallow.
Plus, the fact Larson was running down Kenseth and nearly won that race was wild.
This is the last Dover race when it felt like “monster” was in monster mile
Larson recently said this was his favorite battle of his racing career. I can definitely see why. Dover is a slept on track. Love how unique it is even if the racing isn’t great sometimes.
It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks and I live an hour from the track unfortunately never been there!
Tbh that last stat really says something especially for Denny Hamlin who had already put 10+ years into the 11 car at that point. When he finally retires he will always be remembered for driving that 11 car as much as Johnson drove the 48 or Gordon driving the 24, or even Earnhardt driving the 3 and Petty driving the 43. Too bad Jr didn’t stick to just the 8 when he went to Hendrick, but at least he still drove the 88 for that stint I guess. (Other Icon’s like Stewart or Kyle Busch had two and three totally different numbers)
@@KyleLeeuwExactly. Jr. had to improvise.
8:31 Fun Fact: 2020 Ganassi has an interesting roster, the final full season points system champion Matt Kenseth in 03, and the first Chase system champion Kurt Busch in 04.
Dover is underrated and underappreciated. Elliott was so close to winning his 1st cup race in his rookir year.
As a Kenseth/Larson fan it would come as no surprise that this is my favourite battle for the win of all time.A grizzled veteran battling the young hotshot with none other than Chase Elliott hot on their heels. Kenseth made his cup debut at Dover subbing in Bill Elliott’s car finishing 6th. Clean and precise racing at it’s finest
Hell yeah!! My boy kenseth pulled it off. He was my favorite and a helluba driver. Always so smooth and calculating never had to worry about him making mistakes. Really felt like he had some left in the tank. BS how he had to retire..
The Carl Edwards crash looks identical to the crash at Homestead several months later.
Definitely the most underrated race at Dover. As a Harvick fan always love Dover cause some of his most dominant wins came here
I was at this race and it was incredible. Matt Kenseth was my favorite driver, and being able to see one of his final wins in person is something I won’t ever forget. Actually got the chance to meet him, Casey Kane, and Clint Boyer in a meet and greet pre-race which was awesome.
As a Kenseth fan, this one is a classic for me. Awesome finish!
