NASCAR sponsors are a uniquely required aspect of the sport, funding and making possible the action that we see on the racetrack every week. With this being the case there will be sponsors that NASCAR fans will become accustomed to and sometimes even attached to depending on if their driver represents them on track. So today we will look back at sponsors that used to be in NASCAR that we would either like to come back because we like them or should come back because it would make sense to in a market. These are 8 NASCAR sponsors that should return.

Hey, you do know that Dodge is already racing in NASCAR. The Mopar muscle has been running in Canada, and occasionally in New Hampshire, in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. If you recall the 2017 Daytona 500, Canadian D.J. Kennington made his first Daytona 500 start that year. D.J. runs the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge Challenger and has won two Championships with it in 2010 and 2012.
It was only in the United States that Chrysler Corporation was forced to leave NASCAR. And even there, it was more of a political pissing match between Toyota, Chrysler and NASCAR. I do believe the American NASCAR series can support a forth manufacturer. And I don’t mean Honda. I think Chrysler should return, again, to American stock car racing.

@F-22 Raptor What about Midnight? Rusty’s black and gold Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac Grand Prix. That was one damn sexy car!

After having to put aside their old merchandise, I think I know which sponsor Kyle Busch fans would want to return.

Kellogg’s for sure

I just want M&M’s to come back. Not because I’m a Kyle Busch fan but because the field of cars lacks colour. The yellow & multicoloured candies would always get my attention.

@Dat-Mudkip money. its that simple

Reply
Dat-Mudkip March 10, 2023 at 4:17 am

@LoganB. But surely they are making a good chunk of money from sponsoring a car?
Even before Kyle Busch they were sponsoring cars for years!

Younger me loved the M&Ms car. Made me a Kyle Busch fan. Still one today.

@Zac Parrish I grew up with that too. From 2011 to last year

They technically are a sponsor, just not a car sponsor now. They sponsor the Pocono race and might for the foreseeable future. But yes I would like to see them at least as an occasional primary on a driver’s car.

idk if it’s just me but I miss seeing a #42 Chip Ganassi Target car racing on the weekly

Blame Larson a little for dropping the N word. I know Chip sold out, but Larson was keeping him in NASCAR, along with Kurt.

I think I became a tony Stewart fan back in the day just because he was sponsored by Home Depot

Reply
Sulphurous March 10, 2023 at 1:42 am

I did as well, since there was a Home Depot near where I lived in Chicago too.

I’d like to see the Skoal bandit back, although I know that can never happen because ‘tobacco bad.’

Also, the Kodak and Tide cars. Throughout the late 80s/90s they were a staple on the track, their colors popped and you could always see them coming.

Honorable mention to the Spam Can, come on Chase/Rick….get it done.

Maybe we could get a throwback

Tide is still around in a way. They sponsored the 43 a few times.

The Smokin Joes purple and yellow 23 cars of jimmy spencer were some of the coolest paint schemes ever

ACDelco, Coors, Kellogg’s, General Mills, Jack Daniel’s, Exide, and John Deere.

I want Applebee’s to come back to NASCAR and sponsor Mike Harmon’s team again because everyone knows how loyal Mike Harmon is when it comes to Applebee’s.

Montoya was the first to drive the #42 Target EGR car, if i remember correctly.

Reply

He ran a Hershey’s car at one point in 06 at Daytona and a Hershey’s Kissables when running the Busch series in the 21…

Miller lite and Exide are my top two choices. Those were two of the best looking designs on the track for a long time in my eyes.

For Home Depot, I’d love to see Bell have the design Smoke ran his rookie year. It would be cool to see that design as its one of the first paint jobs I vividly remember as a kid

Always wondered why Bud Light never made an appearance as an alternate scheme for Dale Jr.

I mean, both Budweiser and Bud Light are made under the same roof. Imagine a Bud Light livery. That’d be pretty sick.

Reply
J D March 10, 2023 at 2:29 am

Dilly dilly.

Reply
Rich Hendrix March 10, 2023 at 4:13 am

Dale jr mentioned it on his podcast. The workers at anheiser Busch kinda treated it like two different companies. Budweiser didn’t want bud light on the car cause they wanted to sell Budweiser and win the battle over bud light

Matt X March 10, 2023 at 4:31 am

@Rich Hendrix I don’t blame him but he made a fair point…

I love watching the NASCAR content creator community thrive… I can honestly say you and the NWP crew are a big piece of what drew me back into NASCAR after several years of being away from it.

I would love for these 6 to return. Home Depot, Kellogg’s, Crown Royal, Budweiser, Old Spice, and Lowe’s. Those sponsors had some iconic schemes

I just wanna see Texaco Havoline come back. By far my favorite scheme back in 1998-2001. If i had to pick another sponsor to come back. It would be Mountain Dew

Reply
Codie March 10, 2023 at 3:47 pm

Definitely want to see Budweiser come back! A new sponsor I’d like to see, and surprised they haven’t been a sponsor yet is Milwaukee Tools
