2022: The year of unexpected flips.
Glad Jeb and everyone in that crash is okay though. Lots of hard hits.
The second Burton to flip this year too!
@Brandon Castro Indeed!
Man you’re right. Craziness
There have been a lotta weird crashes this year… cars flipping, cars getting airborne, big pileups at road courses… looking a lot like the 2005 season
I would’ve seen this live, IF I DIDN’T LEAVE THE TRACK IN THE MIDDLE OF CUP PRACTICE
Tires tires and more tires….
@Corey Stanfill ARCA brakes.
Thanks Biden!!
yea but that season, most were caused were on purpose. that year was a demolition derby
The amount of flips this year is nuts
@AndrewWBJ ’09 to be exact.

It’s important to mention that the other 2 options were arguably way worse. It’s too late to back out of this wreck from where he was at. He goes left, he hits the barrels head-on, a much worse collision than Jones’ at Auto Club. He goes right, he hits Wrecky in the door at full speed, which we learned from Arca can injure even the oncoming driver. IMP, correct decision by Burton to try and hug the wall
@P those cars were way in the back so where he was if he tried to attempt to go down pit road he would have smashed into the barrels and i dont think he thought the 48 would come sliding down
By the time Jeb was out of the smoke, he had to make a decision and based on what I see I bet he thought if he went left he was hitting someone and went right instead
deff could have went down pit road
Considering he walked away… he didn’t make a _bad_ decision, and that’s all you can really ask in a panic situation.
If he tried to hook it into pit road, he would’ve either hit the barrels or spun the car. You can actually see him almost spin and catch it in the close shots. That’s my two cents.
That was unexpected. I mean he is okay but man those flips are scary with the pack coming towards you.
What happened was when he hit the tire of Ricky Stenhouse’s car, it actually launched the car into the air, like an open wheel car, that was the same case as Geoff Bodines accident at Daytona in 2000.
We actually just saw a pretty historical moment here. This is the 500th confirmed flip in NASCAR across all three series.
So only the very first flip and this 500th flip are historical.
Nice calculating there
Yay I saw history
Now is this 500 total crashes with flips or 500 flips total with however many crashes?
Sick! I saw it in person
This season proves how realistic nr2003 is
You clearly don’t watch Nascar
@B&H Productions I’ve been watching since 2012 my guy
Welll nr2003 physics is based off of real life!!! It better be!!
Nah fr, with Snider, both Burtons, Friesen, Gragson at RA, Chastain, Buescher, the list goes on. Been a crazy year for wrecks.
Man, Pocono sure produces some frightening crashes. Glad everyone was ok, especially Jeb- that was wicked.
Shoutout to the safety team right here. That first responder set the pace and they righted that car so much better than Chris buescher’s. BIG props to them they have improved massively
It’s also two different cars, with two different underbodies. That is why Buescher’s took a few minutes longer, and this one took a lot less. Mainly because these crews have been use to this type of underbody for years, as the NextGen has only been in place for 7-8 months? Next time, which hopefully will never happen, they will be much quicker with a NextGen car.
@Ray it will happen. And I agreed it’s new car but they actually just weren’t doing it quick enough with Chris. Same type of righting mechanism for both cars, Chris’ was atleast 4/5 mins too long regardless
When I saw it flip I was thinking Will they get this car righted faster than Buechers. Props to that safety crew !
What do you mean “improved”? Safety teams are employed by the tracks. They do not follow NASCAR around. They are different people at every race.
Not only the 500th confirmed flip in NASCAR major series history, but now BOTH the Burtons flip in the same year!
@Brayden’s Minecraft Adventures Uh yeah they did. Check the Daytona 500 from this year.
No one cares
@Brayden’s Minecraft Adventures Yes.
Awesome display of trained emergency staff! Well done NASCAR
Incredible! Glad he’s ok, but then, why wouldn’t he be? These cars are built like tanks inside, with an incredibly designed roll cage! Kudos to the team and Nascar for being so safety oriented.
There is nothing more disorienting than flipping (in my case three and a half times), then coming to rest on anything other than your wheels. I thought I was completely upside down at the end, but actually landed on my drivers side. The safety crews, as mentioned here, talked me through the extrication through the roof, which I thought was my drivers door.
This is one of the craziest years in NASCAR history
The safety guy in his window the whole time and the operator running the tow truck were on their A game today!! That roll over by the tow truck was as gentle as ive ever seen in such a quick time!
Fantastic job by the safety crew making sure Burton was OK and then turning his car over ever so gently, that ALL was great!! Then seeing Jeff hopping out like nothing happened shows how safe those cars are made.
Props to the safety team. 15 seconds from when the car stopped they arrived on scene. 4 minutes from when the car stopped it was upright and driver was out. Can’t do it better then that without hurting someone.
Can we agree that the operator of the truck who rolled that wreck over so gently is an important guy to have around?
I’m sure he doesn’t get enough credit.
The work of the safety and recovery crew was amazing.
