I agree with Larry Mac. Everyone after every race will want whoever wrecked them to be suspended. Whether Chase’s suspension was warranted or not is another argument, but NASCAR has opened a can of worms from their decision.
Except for the fact NASCAR is inconsistent on their calls and decisions. Where was NASCAR when Denny dumped Chase at Martinsville? Not a Chase Fan but you wait to make the call and then more wrecks happen. Same thing with Denny and Chastain, it’s piss poor Management from NASCAR no matter how you look at it!
@Erwin Padgett Dumping someone getting in, hitting someone in the middle of the corner or getting into someone coming off is apart of NASCAR racing whether you like it or not. Right rearing someone comes from old dirt track racing, with the intent of hurting that person, even killing them. Speedy Thompson right reared Herb Thomas as the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in the 50’s because Herb was gaining own Speedy’s teammate in the points, that wreck ended Herb’s career. One of the greatest ever.
@John Walker WHether you know it or not Wrecking is wrecking. No matter who does it. Short Tracks or NASCAR. Still it’s NASCAR’s inconsistency of making calls that allow it. When you bump a driver and he wrecks, it’s a wreck. If you need more help with words then so be it.
They suspended two guys for clearly intentionally wrecking a guy in the most dangerous way possible. Quit being so dramatic about it opening a can of worms. They don’t have to suspend guys for 99% of things except the very dangerous and clearly intentional ones. Drivers can complain but every single person with eyes can tell when there is a line crossed whether they want to admit it or lie about it.
Larry is always the voice of wisdom! The 3 came up on the two. Even if the data from the car shows the two turned left. If a car comes across me I will turn left at them to keep from hitting someone to my right. It was just racing. NASCAR opened this box, now they have to make the call on EVERY incident. This is something I do not want to see going forward.
According to Denny and the Data, the 2 did turn left into the 3. But he says just like I’m saying, was it an intentional, and I think it wasn’t. AC isn’t known for this type of driving, not like Bubba and Chase. I don’t think NASCAR will suspend him, if they do, I think it would be a mistake.
Did the data from the number 3 car show that he turned right?
The 2 came down like 3 feet. NASCAR only “opened the box” on the most dangerous way to wreck somebody. Quit being so dramatic. Hard to know if it was on purpose and I don’t see him getting suspended unless something else comes out.
@Mark Putters No, the data said he was straight, but I still don’t think it was intentional on Cindric’s part, I think he saw a hole and tried something that didn’t work. The 3 made a late entry and the 2 didn’t anticipate that. NASCAR will review the radio and that data to get more information, but I’ve watched Cindric for years and never seen him race like that. Not a fan of him but I’m fair with all drivers and think he’s pretty clean.
@Daniel Chai as far as I’m concerned, NASCAR has outlived its usefulness.
For this wreck no it’s not a suspension for Austin Cindric, not the same as Chase did to Hamlin or Bubba to Kyle huge difference.
English, please. Lol
@Mike Rodgers you saying you need to learn how to understand it??? LOL I understood perfectly.
Except the data suggest otherwise…
I would agree it’s not as egregious, but Cindric does turn left down the straightaway…
No one’s really asking the real question, and that is where is the line between drivers settling things between themselves vs nascar stepping in.
This decision seems to go back on , last week and using data. In my opinion.
super awesome to see them clash, def want more
What was the retalliation for, when did they have trouble before this?
Introducing the Austin and Austin show!
It needs to be clear that it was intentional, that looks like close racing, poor judgement. If they do suspend Cindric over this incident. Then they need to go back 5 years and start suspending every body who even looked like he did it on purpose. C’mon Nascar
I wish they looked over the Sanchez and Deegan incident because Sanchez intentionally wrecked Deegan.
Looks like to me, the #3 turned slightly to the right onto the #2 car. The #2 was pushed to the right then corrected his steering to the left to get straight again. Austin Cindric is not a crazy head with a hot temper.
He turned right because the 2 hit him in the rear.
From what Denny said on his podcast, the 3 was straight and the 2 turned left, but there are scenerios for which Denny talked about that made sense. The 2 was making it three wide at a spot where there really wasn’t enough room to make it three wide, but I agree with Denny after looking at the replay again, the 3 could have been looking for a late entry into the corner and the 2 didn’t anticipate that and turned left to enter the corner, not to wreck the 3. I honestly think the 2 just put himself in a bad situation and made a mistake. No intent was there and I agree with you, AC is one of the cleaner drivers coming up, it’s rare he gets mad at anyone.
@Bill T Marchi I was looking at the view starting at :47 but there is no drone view looking down so it is a bit hard to know for sure.
Wasn’t necessarily saying you were wrong but when the 2 moves down into the 3, he turns to the right. Did he slightly move up a little before they touched as they approached the corner, possibly. But I still think the 2 hits him on purpose and wrecks him on purpose. And as for Suarez and others wondering what may have happened earlier to cause the 2 to want to spin or wreck the 3, is irrelevant. Was it as bad and as dangerous as elliots or bubbas , no. But it was still an intentional wreck that took out another car. And that was supposedly one reason they suspended bubba. Because it wrecked other cars also.
Thanks.
@John Walker funny denny responds that way.. if that were Ross instead of the 2, then it would be called aggressive and stupid decision and out of control impatient and somebody needs to put Ross in his place. Etc.
Austin Dillon is just upset because his teammate has 3 wins and Dillon is 30th in points
I agree with Larry Mac. This is about to get out of control and it needs to stop.
I like to here Suarez talk. He has a bit of an accent that makes everything sound cool. I’ll bet he’s big in Mexico.
Remember last season dillion when you hit cindric of for the win?
Absolutely correct Larry, it was a racing deal. Let’s move on to the next race
Im with Larry Mac, all this suspend suspend suspend stuff is crazy. Dillon is just mad, Cindric didnt wreck Dillon. Austin D moved towards Cindric. What Chase n Bubba did, the suspentions were warrented. This one…no.
They need to go to Denny for this one
Yup, maybe I do need to focus more on Indy Car where drivers are held accountable.
To me, it looked like a racing incident. I saw Dillon move up to try to get a better arc into the turn, while also seeing the 2 begin his arc into the turn to get underneath the 3. I call a misjudgement on both drivers, definitly not suspension worthy.
Want to fix this? Start punishing drivers for starting wrecks. Have a group of 5 or so former drivers that decide which driver is to blame for each wreck during a race. That driver gets assessed points depending on the severity of the wreck. Or even come to the conclusion that it was a racing incident and hand out no points to anyone. Once a driver has collected enough penalty points he or she is automatically suspended for the next race. This will both weed out international wrecking as well as improve driving standards across the board.
If they suspend Chase and Bubba they need to suspend Cindric as well, doesn’t matter the speed, but if Nascar wants to put a point on they don’t want the drivers to wreck others intentionally then they need to suspend Cindric too
