Don’t you love it when Eric puts out banger videos randomly like this

Love these kinds of videos and hearing your ideas! Thanks for sharing Eric!!

NASCAR doesn’t allow fans opinion about the schedule

I kind of want to see Long Beach, Montreal, Indy Oval, Laguna Seca, and Eldora as apart of the schedule

Reply
Proxi Protogen August 9, 2023 at 8:27 pm

I think Laguna Seca would be too small, but solid tracks

Reply
Brandon Spratt August 9, 2023 at 8:34 pm

Long Beach would be great as the long-term SoCal date.

Reply
Z06Paul August 9, 2023 at 8:37 pm

Finally someone mentions Long Beach! That track is just perfect for the schedule. It’s a street course, it’s in the Southern California area and they can do a triple header with indycar and imsa.

Reply
HorrorDox August 9, 2023 at 9:00 pm

@Z06Paulit would have to be a weekend before or after, they already run at max capacity with IMSA & Indycar. (also there isn’t enough space on the pit road for more then like 30 cup cars)

Only tracks that should have 2 races are Daytona, Dega, Bristol, Martinsville, Charlotte and Atl

TRUTH!!!!

Until they fix the shirt track package, Darlington deserves 2 over Martinsville.

Andrew Hayes August 9, 2023 at 8:02 pm

The June Montreal date could work, but I’m not sure how comfortable Formula 1 and the FIA would be to almost ‘share’ the track with NASCAR where traditionally their Canadian GP is Mid-June. This years race was on June 18th.

Reply
Jacob Shelor August 9, 2023 at 8:39 pm

It won’t work. F1 is there that week.

Reply
Ofitus 21 August 9, 2023 at 11:18 pm

To share track with the FIA you need for said series to effectively agree to be a feeder series to F1 that week. That means everything from teams using different paddocks and having to adapt to F1 pit lanes, to FOM controlling the broadcast and trackside advertisements. No way NASCAR would agree… A June 23rd date sounds way more reasonable for Nascar (2 weeks after F1, so the track is already set up and ready to go)

Reply
Jacob Shelor August 9, 2023 at 11:23 pm

@Ofitus 21 or move the Cup race up a week prior

Reply
Ofitus 21 August 9, 2023 at 11:27 pm

@Jacob Shelor Setting up an F1 race begins weeks prior, particularly on semi-permanent circuits. You could have Nascar the week after F1, but the week prior is far more difficult

Reply
Jacob Shelor August 10, 2023 at 12:55 am

@Ofitus 21 fair enough. I’m just saying the week of definitely won’t work

You know a track I wanna see on the schedule, Weather Tech Raceway (Laguna Seca) out in California

Reply
BNSF1995 August 10, 2023 at 6:52 am

@LEGEND_5 My grandpa once said NASCAR would never go to Laguna Seca because it lacks the infrastructure.

I’m happy as long as they keep Dover because I went to my first in person race this year there

NOTE: Might have to swap Gateway and Montreal. I mistakenly looked at the ’23 F1 calendar and not the ’24 schedule. My current schedule would interfere with theirs, so we’d need to swap a week.

The long-awaited NASCAR/F1 doubleheader!

Reply
HorrorDox August 9, 2023 at 8:56 pm

You’d also have to swap Road America and Michigan. IMSA & NASCAR themselves cannot be there together, too many sports car manufacturer only series.

Reply
Kyle Spence August 9, 2023 at 8:14 pm

I agree with you. Talladega is definitely a wild card no matter what part of the schedule it’s in especially in the playoffs

Reply
cameron shaw August 9, 2023 at 8:19 pm

If nascar decided to make the Montreal race in June it would be cool to see them do a doubleheader weekend with F1

Reply
Jacob Shelor August 9, 2023 at 8:39 pm

Only if it’s back to back weekends. F1 takes a different pit layout

Reply
Joshua the Cat-Human August 10, 2023 at 2:12 am

that is not a great idea there.

Reply
Bob Shoemaker August 10, 2023 at 12:03 pm

I think it would be cool if f1 was on Friday and NASCAR was on Sunday

Reply

@Bob Shoemakerthere’s no way f1 would agree to bump to a Friday, their logistics are much more complicated

if they are extremely promoting the return to the oval, NASCAR better get the tire and package right with a lot of team testing

I’m all for bringing Rockingham back, but if that doesn’t happen, what about making Bristol the All Star race? It is an SMI track and it’ll help keep them on the schedule twice— which is also good since it’s a playoff cutoff race so it’ll get drivers a chance on it earlier in the season.

Bristol Spring is always kind of a low ratings race— but if it’s the All Star race, that could really help bring eyes onto it for the earlier Bristol. And honestly Bristol is a fun race with good bumping and banging which under the lights could be great for an All Star spectacle.

I like that most tracks only have one date. I feel that we should go to more tracks instead of repeating so many. Only tracks that are above average, like the super speedways and short tracks, should get two dates. I would be disappointed if Bristol (concrete) only had one date.

CriterionSuperFan August 10, 2023 at 2:02 am

This would be a great schedule for sure. I’d love to see more street courses in the future, perhaps by running races during a week night here and there. More short tracks would be a dream as well.
