I find it amazing how quickly people change their minds once they’ve realised the grass isn’t greener
Seems to be life. I have a big problem with this. I seem to have feelings of remorse, even if it’s a decision that I feel really good about.
If these rumors are true, I’d still keep Dinger in the 16 in cup, but I’d give the Xfinity 16 to the last resort, Ty Dillon
I would absolutely agree. I think AJ should stay in the 16 car for sure I know there’s only three road course races next year but there’s a good chance that he would win one of those not to mention I think AJ should want to finish his career anyway he wants to especially with all the stuff that he’s been through and stuff
I think the nickname “last resort” for Ty Dillon is equally unfortunate and hilarious
Could always grab someone like grant enfinger that’s probably there’s best option
Why is Ty Dillon the last resort? He’s a solid Xfinity driver.
@kevin prattAJ Allmendinger goes back to Xfinity still driving for same team maybe Matty d goes to Thorsport next year.
Harvick Speedway. He deserves it. Thanks for all the years!
if aj does return to the xfinity series, i’m glad he celebrated extra hard during his roval win
I hope to see AJ Allmendinger back in Xfinity next year. He is such a beast and a weekly contender there!
Xfinity is just awesome in general 🙂
I thought you hated Xfinity.
@KetchaWill, DVD Hunter and Sports Fan. no?
I really like aj and want to see him in good equipment. As much as I’d like to see him in cup I thank xfinity is his best chance for a title run. He dodnt have lot of time left and if I was him I’d rather spend it competitive than as a back marker
@Robert Stoneit’ll get rid of the “all star leech” car.
Last year, AJ had 5 wins, 17 top fives and 28 top tens, with an average finish of 6.6. He was also the only driver in all three series to have no DNF’s all year. In fact he only had one finish outside the Top 20 all year (22nd at Las Vegas).
If AJ doesn’t return to Cup, he needs to go for the Xfinity championship. He’s too good in that series to not hoist the trophy over his head.
Matt Kenseth named the Competition Advisor for Legacy Motor Club.
The trophy for Phoenix going forward should be Kevin Harvick’s pit sign: That smiley goofy face
I don’t know where Chandler got his first win this season
But Sammy got his at Phoenix. Youngest winner is their history
This situation with him is hilarious. It must’ve been seeing JHN’s rear bumper the whole season that has made him think, Jeez, “I could’ve had that car”
Having a Chandler, Joey and Ross full time in cup is so close.

How does this affect the garage’s perception of Chandler Smith? I would have to imagine that this doesn’t do him any favors considering he just signed a multi year deal last year and he already wants out. Eric mentioned the NBA, so I’ll make a comparison. It’s not like Chandler Smith is the James Harden of NASCAR, a guy with the talent, resume, and respect from other competitors and fans.
Now we know who Eric’s favorite cup team will be.
Matt Kenseth just became Legacy Motor Club’s new competition advisor.
I feel if you sign a contract than it should be honored. Starting to see a lack of loyalty in the sport. It shouldn’t alway be about the money and sponsors. Sometimes the love of racing needs to win. When it’s all about a big paycheck, it hurts the sport.
Eric the other Smith in the Xfinity Series, Sammy Smith won the Xfinity Series race at Phoenix in the spring
I think that Chris Rice or Matt Kaulig may have say something that made Chandler question whether or not he would continue racing for Kaulig
I really want to see AJ back in the Cup series next year, even though it seems like it’s not going to happen. AJ gives them a legitimate chance to win the road courses and they are going to throw that away for a pay driver. Unfortunately, that’s the way racing has been going the last several years. I just hope it’s not somebody really underwhelming like Ty Dillon.
I think Chandler is also thinking about his chances to go to cup. If you think about it, Chevrolet’s development line is absolutely stacked. Toyota and Ford are both clamoring for prospects. He’s likely pretty far down the line for a cup ride with Chevy.
Chandler Smith’s move to Kaulig was an even worse idea than I initially thought; what was once a promising organization has taken a big step back and will now be almost completely reliant on pay drivers. I’d argue Smith has gotten more out of his equipment this year than what is actually available; even KFB couldn’t come close to a win with Kaulig. This has blown up in Smith’s face, and I hope it doesn’t have long-term implications for his career.
