The NBC/USA Network broadcast of this race did everything FOX could never do in one race that was fun to watch great Iowa debut
Agreed! Also I loved the extended post race coverage with more driver interviews and analysis
It’s clear Fox has taken a door open dook on NASCAR… Wonder why they renewed for 7 years.
And they lost track of every overtake that was happening on track. At least significant. You joking right?
NBC giving us an 1 post race show. :me: am I dreaming?
Got that right bro! never see post race from fox!
_“is this heaven?”_
_“no. it’s nascar on nbc producing goat tier competent broadcasting.”_
On god bro
Yeah, you can tell that NBC cares about the Sport rather than the Money that Fox cares about
well much better then fox anyway but still has its own faults.
In Iowa
Chase Elliott is having a 2003 Matt Kenseth type of year
who is Matt??? ohhh you mean the ambusher got it sorry
Pretty much, if this was the gen 6 car chase would probably be up there with Byron, Hamlin, and Larson with 3 wins. I still think Chase gets no less then 3 wins before season ends and final 4 but still that Average Finish is Money
Man that was a better race than I thought. That was probably one of the best short track races in the next gen era that I’ve watched. There was a lot more passing than I thought considering the comments Christopher Bell made. I felt like there was no dominant groove, which was fun to watch, not to mention the amazing NBC coverage. As a diehard Penske fan, A great start to the month of June. 85% on the groovy gauge.
P.S I will say, in stage 2, NASCAR throwing that caution for Daniel Hemric hitting the wall out of turn 2 when others hit the wall as well earlier was super crap. Adam Stevens was 100% right with what he said on the radio.
It is Out of the Groove after dark… with your host: Eric Estepp.
Something worthy of note: Chase Elliott is quietly putting together a 2003 Matt Kenseth average finish of 9.11. The next best average finish is William Byron and Ross Chastain tied at 12.47.
Grabbed the points lead last night too
Didn’t realize Ross has been so sneaky good this year
@Untoastedbagel1271 he really hasn’t been that good at all. It’s been a miserable season. He won’t make the playoffs at this rate. I blame his crew chief. He regularly makes bad, overly conservative calls that keep him out of stage points and ends in a 8th-15th place finish
It was nice to see multiple camera angles on screen at once. And when they wanted to show the crowd, NBC put them in the corner so we didn’t miss any racing.
NBC is the reason I get more into the races than Fox, it makes me feel so energized watching the races
Todd gilliland is having the best season of his cup career and he’s 20th in points, he’s so underrated I feel like no one ever talks about him or how good he has done this year.
Best season of career being a 20th place run doesn’t really scream “underrated”.
@@dr4735Doing it as a young driver for Front Row is pretty impressive, also beating his teammate McDowell
this race was so good that my Dad was watching the whole thing intently, and aside from Daytona that never happens
Really hated that “Caution” in Stage 2. The race should have been Blaney vs Bell on the long run at the end but Bell had to much track position to make up.
That questionable Hemric caution really put Bell in a tough spot. Very impressive 4th place run in a backup car.
Not only that if they were able to figure out the start of a run speed might of been 3rd win
@@phippy6227 for sure
It was refreshing to see replays of a problem immediately and not having to wait multiple laps to see it
Except for that bogus hemric caution
@@Roadhouse1997tbf that was such a minor incident that even the booth was questioning the caution
@@FreddieMercurysMercury and it was great to see the booth asking that question. It was just so obvious that NASCAR made a call which was out of step with everything that happened around it.
@@johnbarker5009 yep, even when nascar makes a stupid call NBC made up for it by being like
I’m not to sure about that caution maybe there was some debris we didn’t see
I don’t think there was a single full screen commercial during green flag racing tonight. That’s absolutely amazing! Fox could never.
There were a few in the first couple stages, but your point stands
I feel like bowman doesn’t get enough credit for today. He started 33rd today, and made it to 11th by the end of stage 1. Ridiculously consistent once again.
For someone who talked about how hard he’s worked and how much he risked to go back to the truck series to get into the Toyota pipeline, Nemechek is really making himself look like a contender in the truck series again next year.
Maybe he is better in the minor series like Harrison is.
Legacy Motor Club just sucks. It’s honestly crazy to see such a non-competitive Toyota team
I saw a fair amount of comments on X from people who say they don’t like Steve Letarte. Unless you want to watch the race will no sense of strategy or understanding of why the cars are driving how they are, I don’t understand that. Letarte does an excellent job explaining the decisions made by the crew chiefs in a way that keeps a long time fan engaged and informs a newer fan who may not understand what they are seeing.
Give me Steve Letarte every day and 8 times on Sunday COMPARED to Larry Mac – aka Mouth of the South. Yes, Letarte still has bias for HMS employees (crew chiefs, engineers etc) but my God he is nowhere nearly as grating as “America’s Crew Chief’.
