NASCAR legend Kyle Busch’s post-race interview after final win resurfaces

Kyle Busch is a NASCAR legend and one of the best drivers on the truck series of all time. He was scheduled to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, but Busch passed away on Thursday.

The last time Kyle Busch won a race was just this past weekend, as Busch won the Ecosave 200, a Craftsman Truck Series race. After the race, Busch gave an interview, which sadly foretold his fate.

“Because you never know when the last one is,” Busch responded to the question of why he still enjoys those moments.

It was his second win of the season in the Craftsman Truck Series. He won earlier at Atlanta, winning two of his four races. He also finished second in Texas. Busch has been dominant in the truck series. He has won in 22 of the last 25 seasons, while also racing part-time in the series.

Busch is the All-Time wins leader in the top three NASCAR series combined, winning 234 times. He is also the all-time wins leader in both the Craftsman Truck Series (69) and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (102). He was also the only driver to complete the Triple Threat, racing in all three series in one weekend. Busch also has the series record of 19 consecutive seasons winning a Cup Series race.

In 2023, he was named one of NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers. His work in the truck series is nearly enough to earn that honor alone. He founded his own team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, which ran from 2010 through 2023. He won 48 times as the leader of his own team.

Busch’s career ends as one of the best of all-time. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but until then, fellow drivers, such as Denny Hamlin, mourn the loss of a friend and a competitor.
