And the Hendrick fanboys have the nerve to call this “dirty” or “wrecking someone for the win”. This is peak last lap racing. Congrats to Denny.

I think Denny and Larson are the two biggest hypocrites on the track. They can hit you, but god forbid if you hit them. Doesn’t change the fact that Denny still crashed him for the win, on purpose or not. Only reason Kyle didn’t complain on pit road is because he’s buddy’s with Denny. Which tells you something about Larsons poor loyalty to his team.

As known previously, Hamlin wasn’t clear when he went to move up, clipped Larson, and turned him. Larson was just able to steer himself into the wall allowing him to wall-ride to second, instead of spinning into the backstretch wall and DNFing

Man, both are legends. Larson is great.

@Seth Sisneros I find Denny Hamlin underrated.

Larson was loose and came down slightly while Hamlin went up to side draft. Unfortunate end to what could have been a photo finish, but that was just a racing incident

Hamlin wrecks Larson in my opinion.

Hamlin had 2nd fastest car so he clipped Larson and blames 5 team

Larson got in the wall twice once mid corner once off causing him to slow and get hit by hamlin , no way that could’ve been avoided

You can go four wide on that track dirty move on Hamlins part

He was trying to side draft give me a break

Justin Hutchins May 8, 2023 at 4:24 pm

No fault to Denny. If Larson could’ve missed that scrape, he wouldn’t have lost the speed and had to pull off the wall. Just hard racing.

Truth of 73 May 8, 2023 at 5:18 pm

No I agree, it’s never Denny’s fault. Just ask him.

Reply
Justin Hutchins May 8, 2023 at 5:43 pm

@Truth of 73 you know how side drafting works? How you get to the rear left and can pull the other car back to you? That’s what Denny was doing. A valid NASCAR move in an aero dominant era car. 10/10 times Kyle doesn’t hit the wall out of 2, there’s no contact.

Reply
Justin Hutchins May 8, 2023 at 5:45 pm

@Truth of 73 and if he intended to wreck him, he would’ve just pushed him into the wall in the middle of 1-2 when Larson got loose.

Denny did nothing wrong

Like old school racing Dale Senior did the same thing

Last lap two guys battling for the win, zero fault, anyone would’ve done the same

Reply
Rodney DeFlumeri May 8, 2023 at 5:14 pm

At least Denny owned it by stating he just got to close side drafting to Kyle’s left rear quarter panel. I just hope he can keep the same attitude when the roles are reversed…

Goosemaster May 8, 2023 at 5:21 pm

Just a Denny bs excuse, he knows exactly what he did

Reply
D Bree May 8, 2023 at 5:15 pm

if you can’t race clean for the win you don’t need to be racing

Reply
Tim D May 8, 2023 at 5:49 pm

It doesn’t matter how much video evidence you show them, the Denny haters and Hendrick fanboys will find some way for this to be Hamlin’s fault.

Larson is known for putting other drivers in compromised positions, and Denny definitely raced him hard here. But this is the same kind of old school racing people always complain we don’t see anymore.

Congrats to Denny, and kudos to Larson for getting bavk to the front after spinning early. Best race of the year, hands down.
