He deserved it by a lot. He had a tremendous career, and he’s from Wisconsin. Wisconsin is cool, like him. I was super happy when he wrecked Giggles Logano at Martinsville
That is always such a classic clip.
Only person to successfully stand up to him too. Since then, drivers either would shy away or NASCAR officials would come in to stop it like with Kyle Busch and Hamlin when they wanted to go after Logano.
In fact in my opinion it is up there as one of my favorites in the likes of Dale Sr washing his own windshield while steering the car. Or the one where Dale Sr gets out of the ambulance and is like “duct tape it I’m still racing” lol.
@Jim well even as a Kyle Busch fan I can say he’s too busy crying and being mad about other stuff than to go after Logano lol. Also Hamlin is too scared to go after Logano lol

That was the most Matt Kenseth speech I think I’ve ever heard. In the best way possible. Nothing extra, nothing flashy, just gets the job done, just like his time behind the wheel. Congrats Matt, deserve it 100%, and an incredibly underrated driver if you ask me.

Seeing Matt’s father and sister make me shed tears, I remember going to Matt’s fan club about 1-2 times a month. One time Matt’s dad gave me a hat signed by him. That hat still sits next to my bed. Matt got me into nascar and really helped me get through hard times in my life.

Matt : congrats if any current driver deserves to be in the NHOF ( nascar hall of fame ) it’s you learn with your history to build your legacy ( from Los Angeles aka the home of the CLASH AT THE COLISEUM )

Humility, hard work, dedication, among many other admirable qualities that made him one helluva race car driver… and also, I’d be lying to you if you were a kid in the 2000s that watched racing, and were never amazed at his greatness. Sitting in the stands at Rockingham 1998 I witnessed a thrilling Busch series finish….and discovered my new favorite NASCAR driver. I rooted for Matt all the way to the end and have struggled to watch NASCAR without him. I have no one to pull for since his ride was taken away.
I am so happy for him and his family since he has been honored. Well deserved.
