What are your thoughts on the changes to “Hail Melon” type moves at all tracks?
The “Hail Melon” move is very risky and we have seen many hail melon moves not only in NASCAR but other race events. On removing stage breaks on road courses, I think that’s a good point since most of the road course races in different racing organizations didn’t require stage breaks.
The old rule of “unintended consequences” I believe applies here. Why make a rule for this??? 1st time in 75 yrs that something like this has happened, now we need a rule? NASCAR just opened itself up to unnecessary scrutiny. From now on, any driver that gains a position (while against the wall) on another driver, is going to push for this rule to be implemented… I hope I am wrong.
It’s not really a new rule they’re just enforcing or changing the penalties of an existing rule
Get rid of the stage racing all together
Fox and NBC are never going to allow it

Stage racing. Code for time for commercials. Go back to the Gatorade halfway challenge. Acknowledge the leader and keep on racing.

Making rules on the rarest thing we have ever seen makes no sense!!! Ban rules that make dumb rules!!! It was a clean move that no one in the right mind was willing to do anyway.. Instead of praising the driver, you are going to punish them for excellent innovation.. This is a step backward for sure.. You guys have to change this and make it right immediately.. That dude sigle handedly brings so many people back to watching Nascar.. I know for sure I wasn’t watching Nascar that often until he did that.. That was one of the most sensational and inspirational things I have ever seen.. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.. Give more thought to that rule you are trying to implement.. Like when you are able and not able to do that during the race.. instead of taking away all together.. Please Fix!!!
