To me, it’s pretty clear that Cory Heim will take over the 20. He’s proved himself in trucks and I think leaving him down there for another year will leave him vulnerable to being poached by another manufacturer

I agree. Let’s bring up some of the young guys!!

Nope…HIEM VERY UNDERWHELMING IN TRUCKS…JESSE LOVE HAS SURPASSED HIM IN THE TOYOTA PROSPECT PIPELINE, WILL LIKELY SKIP TRUCKS STRAIGHT TO THE 20 IN XFINITY, ALSO RYAN TRUEX IS FURTHER UP THE TOY LADER FOR XFINITY THAN HIEM…JUST FACTS!

@Jason Ratcliff yep people forget that Corey Heim got smoked by Ty Gibbs every week in Arca and he also got roasted pretty because he wrecked at Kansas. He shouldn’t get the ride at all.

I sure hope Ryan gets the 20.

What??? Nobody’s replacing Christopher Bell! He’ll achieve even more than Matt Kenseth one day!

@spd7693He means the JGR xfinity 20 I think.

Yes Ryan Truex deserves a Full time ride in that 20 Xfinity car for sure.

Transportationfan0923 September 8, 2023 at 8:07 pm

Maybe Matty D in the 19 Xfinity car full time, Hocevar could go in that car too, if Ryan Truex goes to the 20 these two drivers could get the 19 a full time ride

Reply
Johnathon Kelley September 9, 2023 at 6:30 am

I think Matty D DID drive the 20 before back in the Busch series era.

I’d love to see Trevor Bayne get a top notch ride in 2024 Xfinity. He’s been fast every time he’s been in good equipment.

That’s if he wants it
I mean he’s only 32 so he’s not too old. The main issue is does he have sponsors

Reply
Robert Trask September 8, 2023 at 11:10 pm

I agree. T Bayne should get a ride in Xfinity. I wish some sponsors would get behind him.

i feel bad for trevor i think his reputation as a driver was really harmed by roush’s performance. i think allot of people, at least at the time, blamed him for that 6 car being bad when we’ve seen since their revival just how far they had really fallen during the time period that he was there

I think he might get the 19 Xfinity car full time which will force JGR to open up a 4th car for cup guys.

Take this with a grain of salt but I’ve seen rumors of Noah Gragson going to Rackley war next year. Which would ruin the theory of Dawson Sutton getting the ride. But who knows.

To elaborate on AJ Allmendinger: up until The Glen, the closest he was to winning was at Atlanta Superspeedway. I get he has good road course talent and has shown some personally impressive shows at Daytona, just let the man race the Xfinity series. The series needs more regulars like that. He’d also get more wins, which i think would be better for his waning career. I am skeptical that this is going to happen, though. Especially with the Austin Hill news, but I’d still enjoy seeing him Win in the Xfinity series than grind and struggle in the Cup series. (Watch him win next week or something and make this irrelevant)

Reply
Murg September 9, 2023 at 4:12 am

I don’t think the underwhelming finishes are all on AJ, the Kaulig cars have been slow across the board this year regardless of driver or track

Reply
Ali Miller September 8, 2023 at 9:08 pm

Corey Heim is a not only a future superstar, but honestly he’s a future NASCAR Cup Series champion. I guess this is a hot take at this point??….but as cool of a rags to riches story it would be for Ryan Truex to get the #20 in Xfinity, he doesn’t deserve it over Heim. I still hope Truex gets a great opportunity tho, because he deserves it.

Blendez Family September 8, 2023 at 9:19 pm

I totally forgot that Joe Nemechek drove the #42 car in the Cup Series from 1997-1999, so it’ll be cool to see JH in a #42 car too.

RDSk September 8, 2023 at 9:25 pm

We’re all forgetting one name: SVG. He could be Kaulig’s surprise guy, with Trackhouse leasing that charter.

Reply
John Haas September 8, 2023 at 9:26 pm

He isn’t going full time cup series racing So I don’t know where you’re getting this f****** idea

Reply
Shaun Kramer September 8, 2023 at 11:53 pm

@johnhaas2523 Not that far fetched. Make it a rotation of drivers and give SVG a handful of starts

Reply
Gary Kennedy September 9, 2023 at 12:51 am

I don’t think svg is ready for cup yes he is good on road coarses but still a fish out of water on ovala specially in the cup series he needs a year in the Xfinity series to get used to racing on ovals and run road coarses in cup next season

Reply
Shaun Kramer September 9, 2023 at 3:04 am

@garyk76  All the drivers say the Xfinity cars race nothing like Cup cars. I agree he’s inexperienced on ovals, but the best way to learn is by doing it.

Hocevar kind of reminds me of a Logano. He was brash and very much a loose canon. He destroyed more Gibbs race cars than than the other drivers put together. He was not that bad, but he needed a long-time to really come into his own. I wonder if Hocevar could be much the same and be that generational talent with what appears to be an almost limitless up side. Time will tell.
