What a fantastic 500 once again. Wish the race finished under green but I’m fine with the outcome we have. Congrats Willy B!

after they banned bump drafting no daytona 500 race can ever be considered good. “it’s for safety” no it’s not it’s plain stupid. Look how they constantly have to lift. The situation always gets super explosive

Right.

30 minutes is basically all you get on the actual broadcast with all the commercials in between

I agree that they should make a long extended highlight reel, but you can watch the full race replays when they come up a couple days after or you could stream it online on some sketch site.

Blocking a lane is fair game. Not wrecking the car in front of you.

Reply
@ronp1018 February 20, 2024 at 5:42 am

Yeah, shitty driver Ross Chastain wrecks the whole field blocking In his chevrolet sent him up there to take out every Ford that was on the track

Reply
@rayrussell6258 February 20, 2024 at 6:18 am

Yeah, Bowman drove into the back of Byron, causing Byron to lose traction, and that started the whole thing. I didn’t see the broadcast, but I hope the announcers fixed their mistake and put the Big One on the right guy, because in this clip they blamed Byron unfairly. And then they make it worse blaming guys at the front, ahead of the actual wreck, for trying to race and pass the leader Chastain who blocked. None of it would have happened if Bowman held his line in tight 2-lane traffic instead of trying to push Byron into a middle lane. He hit him twice, then lifted. NASCAR Channel, even you are wrong placing your graphic on that video segment blaming Byron for the wreck. Justice prevailing, Chastain tried to go up into a middle lane that wasn’t there, and Byron won at the end. If NASCAR wants 3-lane racing, so fans see actual racing not bumper cars, they need to make the track and banking wider.

I haven’t watched a NASCAR race since the early 2000s. I’m a Jeff Gordon fan and decided this year I’d get back into it, backing the 24 car. Good start I’d say.

I quite enjoyed the chemistry between Harvick and Bowyer. Harvick had enough energy to match Bowyer when needed, and also calmed him down enough when technical commentary was necessary.
