i don’t understand how 900 HorsePower V8’s dont attract manufacturers
Thats if, they rise the horsepower
NASCAR’s current engines have little relevancy to street cars. OEMs would rather spend a ton of money on tech that can be related to their normal cars, or that at least can be marketed to customers.
Because hybrids and ev is where the civilian market is heading. Weather we like it or not

I saw, talked with, got his picture and autograph at New River Speedway in Jacksonville North Carolina while he and Dale Jr were driving in the CARS Tour. Great young man. I had already seen him drive and became an instant fan! I then was so glad that I was ate Dover for that race. I just knew he was going to pull it off! Still very excited for him.
Just hope nascar never gets away from the v8 engines

Yeah me too but I fear the V6 isn’t too far away.
I’m not a car enthusiast but, as “old f1 enthusiast” f1 v6 hybrid have a “recovery system” (the ERS), when the car brakes to do the turn, the energy “recharge”, my question is, HOW you gonna do a “ERS System” in Daytona, Talladega, Michigan and others fast cookie cutter tracks, the F1 system could work in Bristol, Martinsville, North Wilksboro, Rockingham (if NASCAR wants to return) and Richmond
Right now we don’t need to focus on new manufactures we need to focus on fixing the package for short tracks and road courses
I think hybrids will work in nascar it works great in IMSA
4:14 no one is going to buy a car and becoming a Nascar fan. That happened in the 50’s and 60’s. Not in 2024.

I kinda disagree. Young guys now I’ve seen are do odd things. I’ve seen videogamers become gun people and brand loyal from first person shooter games. I can see them doing the same with a car. That said NASCAR needs a relevant PlayStation and Xbox game yesterday!
And today is also different because NASCAR makes all of the cars look mostly like the Camaro and of course all using the spec engine, based on the Chevy RO7, not the brand identity like the old days, kinda hard to wrap your arms around an ugly a** 4 door Toyota that couldn’t even sniff its way to a racetrack in real life.
I’m not opposed to hybrid as long as the engines still sound good.
It won’t even be hybrid engines like you see in the streetcars it would be like IMSA already uses and Like an electric motor that drives the transaxle

It costs teams a ton of money to run the cars they have now, a hybrid car is going to cost a hell of a lot more. Can’t see the teams wanting that

NASCAR’s new engine package not only has to be relevant to OEMs, but also cheaper. No OEM is going to join if the costs outweigh the rewards of participating. It seems like NASCAR is still weighing their options on what’s best moving forward
C8 corvette E-rays have proven that V8 hybrids are still wicked cool and loud.
Not the first time that I’ve heard Hyundai coming to NASCAR. That rumor has been going around for at least 5 years

Honda is the only real possibility. Toyota and Honda have the best-performing hybrid systems and Honda has a legendary racing reputation.
Kvapil should be at the top of the list of Cup prospects. He’s got ice in his veins and all the talent in the world.

@@randymilton-ploof5071 Why not a million, here’s why, in the glory days, not today’s sad days, when they were making 900 to 1,100 out of a NA small block Chevy, they were pushing the edge of reliability to run 500 miles wide open they had rules and had to destroy them when Toyota bought off NASCAR, in the glory days if a manufacturer wanted to compete they had to use their engine in production, meaning block, crankshaft, connecting rods and heads off of the assembly line, limited cubic inch, today only Chevy has an engine in production that can qualify, so GM supplies the field, and NASCAR has chosen to severely limit the hp, nobody knows why.

You want upped HP? Hybrid is how you get it. You’re concerned about the sound? Cadillac LMDh…look it up.
