Alan was a lost art . I can’t see a full owner / driver winning the Cup Series title again plus this was a 29 race season so how organic this was with no gimmicks like today made it extra special
It is the greatest race and Bob Jenkins call at the end was the greatest.
The first and the last NASCAR Cup Series Champion of ’92.
My all time favorite driver. That #7 Hooter’s Ford Thunderbird is still one of the best looking cars in series history. I go back watch his post race interview after he won the championship all the time. It’s always a tearjerker when he says “there will be more races and more championships in the future.” Little did he, or anyone else, know that just 5 races in to the next season, he’d be gone.
Long Live The Polish Prince!
This is racing at its finest. What I’m seeing today is embarrassing. They’ve turned Atlanta into a drafting track. BS
Not trying to take anything away from Alan but if Davey Allison didn’t wreck , he would’ve won a ton of championships no doubt
RIP to Alan and davey
I Like Alan Kulwicki Clinching 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Championship Number 7 Hooters Ford Thunderbird Thanks For Uploading
Thank you for posting this! I was a big Alan fan the year he won the championship, and I cried like a baby when he died. I was 11, he was 38. I thought 38 was SO OLD then, I’m past that age now, I still have a nice collection of Kulwicki stuff I’ve either posthumously obtained or had other fellow fans send me and I have the Hall of Fame shirt and hat I wear April 1 every year. I met Peter at the truck race at Texas a few years ago (he worked for the Hattori team at the time) Great guy, asked him questions about Alan, he said away from the track he was a regular guy, at the track, all business, and he was shocked when I asked to get a picture with him. I guess he doesn’t see himself as anybody “important” but to me, he had that connection to Alan.
This Video truly solitifes to me why Alan is my all-Time favorite Driver. Fly high Alan, I’ll always remember you.
SlapShoes has an amazing video on this race in his channel
Alan kulwicki was a very smart man and he had a a being a NASCAR champion, he gave a lot to NASCAR , it was a pity that he died and didn’t get to enjoy being a champion, he is missed .
He did get to enjoy being a champion. Maybe not for a long time, but he had at least a few months to celebrate.
